Rupesh SilwalPhD

Rupesh Silwal, PhD, is a data scientist at UVA Health on the department’s research team. He earned his PhD in experimental particle physics at UVA and did postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before moving into health data science. His recent work applies machine learning to health data, including a knowledge-augmented large language model for risk prediction from multimodal electronic health records, and he earlier contributed to modeling work at UVA’s Center for Diabetes Technology.
